Bradley men’s golf headed south for Craft Farms Intercollegiate hosted by South Alabama this past weekend. Dodging troubling weather that was set to hit earlier in the week, the team completed most of the action Sunday while wrapping up action Monday.

As the penultimate event for the Braves before the MVC Championship, the team was forced into trying to step on the gas a bit harder as the season’s curtains drew nearer.

WHO

Senior Josh Kirkham continued his stay at the top of the Braves depth chart, firing a 12th place finish of one-over-par 217. The veteran collected a two-under-par 70 in the final round to finish on a strong note.

Likewise, freshman teammate Connor Hamm also collected a strong end to his tournament with his one-under-par 71 in the third round to finish at a four-over-par 220, placing 22nd overall.

Senior John Stillman, graduate Luke Armbrust and senior Roy Radke rounded out the top five for the Braves, scoring 230, 234, and 237 respectively.

WHERE

The competition was scheduled to be played over the course of only three days from Sunday to Tuesday but with impending inclement weather conditions approaching Gulf Shores, Alabama, tournament officials wisely chose to run through as much as they could Sunday and wrap up the action the following day.

That could be the reason why the Braves performed better in the third round, as they played most of it after some rest following the Monday rush. Nonetheless, the group enjoyed being able to hit the ground running early.

WHEN

The Braves will next be seen in action at The Stampede at the Creek in Elkhorn, Nebraska where they’ll get their last chance to impress before the Valley Championship. The action in Nebraska kicks off on Monday, April 10, and runs through that Tuesday.
