Soccer hopes to end season on a high note

By Patrick Huber

As the leaves change colors and the temperatures drop, one thing is clear: fall sports are beginning to wrap up in the Missouri Valley Conference, and teams are starting to make their final playoff push.

One of those teams is Bradley soccer who, currently sitting at 1-4 in conference play, could use a boost to keep their season alive. In all likelihood, they would need to win at least one of their remaining three games and possibly tie in one of the other two.

This may be unlikely, but it’s not impossible. In a season that has yielded a SportsCenter Top 10 moment, I’d like to believe that the Braves will overcome this challenging situation and push towards the final MVC Soccer Championship spot. Soccer, like any sport, is full of unpredictability, and a team’s fortunes can change in an instant.

Bradley would have a huge chance for an underdog story if they do qualify for championship play and would have momentum on their side. I, along with other Bradley soccer fans, are looking forward to the conclusion of the season and to see if this Cinderella story comes to fruition.

There’s still time for Volleyball to turn things around.

There will be plenty of thrilling sports action for Bradley during the upcoming MVC Championships. That being said, the volleyball team is definitely in the spotlight.

Despite a rocky season filled with difficult games and significant injuries, this team’s unity and endurance have made them the most entertaining team to watch this season. Even in the face of defeat, their recent performances demonstrated exceptional teamwork and unwavering dedication.

Over the past two weeks, they faced difficult opponents and unfortunately lost 3-2 in every match. Through this defeat, they still managed to demonstrate their competitive ability, battling in close games against top teams in the conference. While injuries may have slowed their progress, the team’s versatility and depth shone through as they rose to the occasion.

Fans and supporters should be looking forward to their performance on the main stage of the MVC Tournament, knowing they will make us proud with their unrelenting passion for the sport and their teamwork.
