Enjoying the Super Bowl as a non-football fan

With Super Bowl LVIII happening this weekend, people are gearing up to delight in the most-watched television event in America. Even if you’re not a die-hard football fan, there are still some ways to enjoy Sunday’s game.

For the foodies, take advantage of the pre-game atmosphere and organize appetizers for a group of friends. It can include simple, prepackaged snacks like chips and dip or easy-to-prepare dishes like sliders, chicken wings or pigs in a blanket.

A football brownie is another easy and cute treat to make for the game. Use a premade brownie mix, cut it to the shape of a football and pipe white icing on to represent the laces.

The Rescue Bowl is also back again this year featuring puppies and kittens from across the nation who have found homes. Facing off this year are Team Cuddlers and Team Adorables. The kittens will play the first half and the puppies will finish the game off in the second half.

Another staple of the Super Bowl-watching experience is seeing the goofy celebrity-filled commercials. This year, there will be advertisements featuring Tina Fey, Aubrey Plaza, Martin Lawrence and more.

Speaking of celebrities, there is the possibility that Taylor Swift will show up to support her boyfriend, Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce. To make her appearances on screen more interesting, you could take a shot every time she is shown on screen – if you are of legal age, of course.

If you partake in no other aspect of the game, at least tune in to watch the Halftime Show. Beloved R&B singer Usher will take the stage this year for what is set to be one of the longest shows in the event’s history. With his impressive discography and penchant for giving fans a show, hopes are high for his performance. His connections in the industry might also mean a special guest or two could join him

This Sunday is also a time for all fans to come together and celebrate the success of their teams, with a splash of friendly rivalry. The Super Bowl is a good catalyst to create a fun environment for people of all ages. Family and friends can make silly bets, such as the result of the coin toss or what color the gatorade will be.

Overall, the Super Bowl is a good excuse to gather with friends and family, eat snacks and take advantage of the fun group atmosphere.
