The Bradley cross country team performed well at the Gans Creek Classic on Sept. 29. The Braves earned fourth place out of 20 teams on the men’s side while finishing 15th out of 23 teams in the women’s standings. The meet, hosted by Missouri, featured tough competition from the Big Ten, the Big 12 and other Missouri Valley Conference institutions.

Freshman Jayde Rosslee continued his outstanding debut season in NCAA cross country. He finished in seventh place in the men’s 8K race, giving him three top-ten finishes in a row. Senior Michael Rebello finished 10th to achieve his third top-ten result in three races.

In addition to all of their outstanding individual performances, the Braves finished ahead of conference rivals Southern Illinois (SIU), Northern Iowa (UNI) and Murray State. Only Illinois, North Florida and Texas Tech topped them on the men’s side.

In the women’s division, Bradley showed tremendous determination and competitiveness, finishing 15th out of a challenging group of 23 teams. The team racked up a score of 362, outscoring Murray State but finishing behind SIU and UNI, who finished 11th and 12th, respectively.

Junior Abigail Hancock provided a strong showing for the Braves, finishing in 19th place. Her latest accomplishment marks a hat trick of top-20 finishes in the three races she’s competed in.

Next week, the Braves compete again when they host the Bradley Pink Classic on Oct. 13.
